USM Publishes Fourth Volume of JARDET

USM, Kabacan-The SOXAARRDEC Regional Research and Development Coordinating Council (RRDCC) convened on December 13, 2022, at Skyroom, Administration Building, University of Southern Mindanao, Kabacan, Cotabato for the 2nd Council Meeting of the year 2022, with Dr. Sailila E. Abdula, the RRDCC Chairperson and the OIC-Regional Executive Director of the Department of Agriculture- Regional Field Office 12, as presider of the meeting.
In his opening message, Dr. Abdula highlighted the need of the government agencies to converge to achieve a strong impact for the stakeholders in the region through SOXAARRDEC. He said that through the RRDCC, the heads of agencies can meet and create plans for the development of the consortium.
Dr. Ma. Teodora N. Cabasan, the Vice President for Research Development and Extension (VPRDE) of USM, who represented the USM President Francisco Gil N. Garcia, said in her opening remarks that USM is always supportive to the endeavors and activities of the consortium and emphasized that Dr. Abdula’s leadership in DA-RFO is an advantage to all the members of the consortium as it is so much related to the advocacy of the CMIs.
Various matters were tackled as it was the last meeting of the council for the year 2022. Updates regarding the operations of the consortium were also presented. The meeting went well with the presentation of the accomplishments of SOXAARRDEC for 2022 by the SOXAARRDEC Director and Executive Board Secretary, Dr. Josephine R. Migalbin.
Present in the meeting were Dr. Ali K. Dilangalen, the RRDCC Vice Chairperson and Cotabato Foundation College of Science and Technology (CFCST) President, Dr. Sema G. Dilna of Cotabato State University (CotSU) , Dr. Julie A. Albano the VPRDE of Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) and Dr. Rodelyn Dalayap, who represented Dr. Samson L. Molao, Dr. Girlie R. Saludo of Philippine Rubber Research Institute (PRRI), Dr. Dexter C. Necor who represented Dr. Angel Brilliantes, the South Cotabato State College (SCSC) President, Mr. Roel Marabulas who represented Director Usop Pendaliday of DA- Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources 12 (DA-BFAR12) , Mr. Rodolfo T. Valdez Jr. who represented Director Benjamin Basilio of DA- Philippine Carabao Center at USM (DA-PCC at USM), Mr. Ronald Bajador who represented Dr. Gerry Rigonan of Makilala Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), SOXAARRDEC R&D Cluster Coordinator, and Dr. Jurhamid C. Imlan.
The council is set to meet on January 26, 2023, during the SOXAARRDEC 35th Anniversary as well as the first RRDCC Meeting for 2023.
