Landbank Plans to Create Startups for USM Agriculture Graduates

As long-time partners in delivering service excellence, the Landbank of the Philippines (LBP) led by Landbank North Cotabato Lending Center Head Atty. Christian Harvey N. Wong continues the legacy through a courtesy visit to USM President Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel on January 19, 2026, at the Office of the President, Administration Building, USM, Kabacan, Cotabato.

The visit aimed at discussing one of the significant enhancements of Landbank’s agricultural credit facilities. While Landbank continues to provide favorable financing to small farmers and fisherfolks, the service has now been expanded to include graduates of agriculture-related programs to further strengthen the agricultural sector of the country by providing trained graduates a chance for startup and translate their knowledge into viable agricultural enterprises.

USM, as a premiere university that excels in agriculture and innovation, President Pimentel expressed his enthusiasm by sharing his vision to transform the university into an entrepreneurial hub to widen the career options of students. According to him, this vision compliments the new opportunities offered by Landbank.

Present during the visit were Vice President for Administration and Finance Quenielyn L. Durendes, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Leorence C. Tandog, Human Resource Management and Development Office Director Dr. Nerissa G. dela Viña and representatives from LBP.
