Prof. Ronald Pascual, Project Leader of RAISE Project 2: Regional Agribusiness Hub at the University of Southern Mindanao (USM), was awarded 1st Runner-Up in the Pitching Competition for his entry, the Innovative Biomass Composter (IBC), during the Mindanao Technology Transfer Conference 2025 held on October 1, 2025, at the HERO Learning Commons, Caraga State University (CSU), Butuan City.
The IBC was one of the Top 12 qualifiers for the Pitching Competition, announced on September 20, 2025, and had earlier been recognized as the Most Promising Technology by DOST-PCAARRD during the National Valuation Training on August 15, 2025, in La Union. The entry also received a ₱15,000 cash prize.
The conference convened higher education institutions (HEIs), technology adopters, investors, industry leaders, and government partners and showcased innovations in the agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources (AANR) sector through technology exhibits and pitching competitions. It was spearheaded by the Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement (RAISE) Program in Caraga and CSU’s Technology Transfer and Licensing Office (TTLO), in collaboration with USM through RAISE SOCCSKSARGEN.
