Griffiths University Professor Chengrong Chen to Deliver Lecture at USM

Professor Chengrong Chen of the School of Environment and Science at Griffiths University, Australia, will deliver a lecture on “Advances in Soil Fertility and Management” at the Commercial Building, University of Southern Mindanao on March 15, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 NN. The lecture is open to all USM faculty, researchers, and students, particularly those who are specializing in soil science.

A graduate of PhD in Biogeochemistry at Lincoln University in New Zealand, Prof. Chen is currently leading the Soil Environmental Biogeochemistry Research Group and the 4R Waste Hub at Griffith University. He is an Australian Research Council (ARC) Future Fellow, and the project investigator of “Land management of diverse rubber-based systems in southern Philippines,” funded by the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR). The project aims to increase household incomes of smallholder farmers through the introduction of improved rubber-based intercropping systems and sustainable management practices. Key partners of the project are USM, Caraga State University, the Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur, and the Bureau of Soil and Water Management.
