The Midwifery Program of the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) once again achieved a 100% passing rate in the April 2025 Midwifery Licensure Examination, as announced by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on April 22, 2025.
Achieving a complete pass rate of its eight examinees, the result is the program’s fourth consecutive year of perfect performance surpassing this year’s national passing rate of 57.43%.
Prof. Carlo Dela Cruz, Chairperson of the Midwifery Program, highlighted that the program’s success is the result of a multifaceted approach to training, including a comprehensive curriculum, a dedicated faculty, and strong institutional support.
“The success of our students is a testament to the hard work and commitment of everyone involved in the program,” Prof. Dela Cruz shared.
“We combine rigorous academics with practical clinical exposure, mentorship from seasoned faculty, and continuous assessments to ensure our students are well-prepared for both the licensure exam and real-world practice.” The program head concluded.
This year’s graduates represent the second-to-last cohort of the Diploma in Midwifery program. The final batch is set to take the licensure exam in November 2025. After that, the program will transition to a Bachelor of Science in Midwifery degree.
