π¦π²πΊπΆπ°πΌπΉπΌπ»
noun
a punctuation mark (;) indicating a pause, typically between two main clauses, that is more pronounced than that indicated by a comma.
In literature, authors usually use semicolon when they could have chosen to end their sentence, but chose not to. In grammatical terms, it represents where a sentence could end, but continues on.
Semicolon also represents the internal struggle of a person, especially those who suffer mental illness. It raises awareness about mental health problems. This symbol makes them remember that it is okay to feel bad; it is okay to cry; it is okay to stop; and, it is okay to take a break.
Happy World Semicolon Day!
Let us all raise awareness and remember that what you feel and think are valid because you matter βwe all matter.
