‘Agung’ is a large kettle-shaped gong used mainly in Maguindanao and Maranao society as an accompanying instrument in kulintang ensemble. Additionally, agung is also used to inform people in the commuity of important occasions or warn others of impending danger, or signal the time of day.
The Mindanao Tech‘s official Facebook page was awarded for its “strong media presence, coverage variety, exhaustive topics, user-friendliness, and engagement” by the Organization of Student Services Educators, Inc (OSSEI) on September 29, 2018 at Crown Legacy Hotel, Baguio City.
The #Agung2022 Online Communication and Journalism Excellence Awards is created to honor and recognize the best efforts and practices of the societies and organizations in the University of Southern Mindanao for their outstanding online communication and journalism work.
This is open to all societies and organizations in USM with consistent online presence on Facebook. All digital works including but not limited to photos, artworks, videos, captions, and articles published from January to December 2022 are eligible to win.
List of awards and nominees shall be announced soon on this page, while the red-carpet awarding shall be held during the Screening and Awarding of the 10th Lantaw Short Film Festival on January 27, 2023 at the USM Auditorium.
