Dubbed “Pagkaing Sariling Atin, Mahalin at Pagyamanin,” the 2023 Filipino Food Month promotes cultural understanding and appreciation, bringing people together to celebrate Filipino culture and community. This is after former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte signed Presidential Proclamation No. 469 in 2018.
With this, the USM Microbiology Society joins the entire Philippines in celebrating and appreciating Filipino culinary heritage, paying homage to local farmers and fisherfolk. Every Wednesday in this month of April, USM MicroSoc will tackle the microbiology of selected Filipino foods in line with the celebration.
