The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) Gender and Development (GAD) is about to launch “Juana Says”, a video production aimed at inspiring and empowering women, as part of the National Women’s Month 2025 celebration. The event, led by Prof. Roselyn Clemen, University GAD Focal Person, was held at Café Martina, USM, Kabacan, Cotabato.

The video series will be featuring insightful talks from speakers including Dr. Emerlie Rojas Okit from the College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Glyn G. Magbanua, Director of the USM Extension Service Office (ESO), Ms. Margie B. Galang, Chief Administrative Officer for Admin Services, Dr. Debbie Marie Versosa, Vice President of Research, Development, and Extension (VPRDE), and Dr. Naomi G. Tangonan, Professor Emeritus.

The “Juana Says” video production is complete and set for release in March 2025 through the official USM GAD Facebook page (USM-Gender and Development Office https://tinyurl.com/Gendender-Development) as part of the Women’s Month celebration. The series aims to showcase the strength, resilience, and experiences of women, highlighting their journey of overcoming challenges and proving their worth in society.

In an interview, Prof. Clemen encouraged women to stay resilient, saying, “Life’s journey is uncertain, but if we stay positive and committed, we can keep moving forward.”

Through “Juana Says”, USM GAD aims to create a platform for women to share their stories, inspire others, and continue advocating for gender equality and women’s empowerment.
