Kabacan, Cotabato – April 23, 2025 — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – North Cotabato paid a visit to SorTech Bean, a promising agri-tech startup incubated at the USMart Technology Business Incubator (TBI), to engage with its founders and evaluate their innovative technology.
DTI representatives Ms. Friche Jay R. Rabaya, Mr. Mark Nikko L. Manginsay, and Ms. Catherine Ajero met with the founders Jameth Villanueva and Jhanrie Tejada, students from the BS in Electronics Engineering (EcE),to discuss the startup’s market potential, current technological development, and alignment with industry needs.



SorTech Bean is working to develop value-added, tech-driven solutions in the agri-food sector—aimed at improving sustainability and market accessibility for local producers and consumers. The DTI delegation highlighted the importance of refining the startup’s technology based on feedback from its target market and emphasized support for scalable, locally-rooted innovations.
The visit was facilitated by the USMart TBI team, headed by Project Leader, Dr. Jalaloden B. Marohom, together with Kim Bryan Abellanosa, Engr. Chloee Faith Teves, Engr. John Lloyd Tamse, and Simeon Depita.
