Office of Sen. Kiko Pangilinan Visits USM, Discusses Cacao Initiatives and Agri Development

New opportunities for innovation and enterprise opened as the University of Southern Mindanao-Kidapawan City Campus received advanced equipment from the Department of Trade and Industry Region 12 on April 6, 2025. The turnover was formalized through a deed of donation signing held at the Office of the President, Administration Building, USM, Kabacan, Cotabato.
Among the donated items were Shared Service Facility (SSF) machinery and tools, including a CNC Router (Shopbot PRSalpha), laser cutter/engraver, extended 3D printer, and other equipment designed to support production and fabrication.
The equipment will be made accessible to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), as well as other identified beneficiaries. With these resources, users can improve product development, increase efficiency, and expand their operations.
The initiative supports the government’s push to create more livelihood opportunities and strengthen local industries through better access to modern technology.
Present during the activity were representatives from the Department of Trade and Industry Region 12 and Department of Trade and Industry Cotabato Province, along with USM Kidapawan City Campus Chancellor Ronielyn F. Pinsoy and USM President Jonald L. Pimentel.
