USM Signs MOA for “Tara, Basa!” Tutoring Program

Kabacan, Cotabato – The Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office XII (DA-RFO XII) conducted a physical monitoring and coordination meeting with the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) on March 25, 2025, to assess the status of several projects funded under the Agricultural Competitiveness Enhancement Fund-Research for Development (ACEF-R4D) program.
This initiative followed the ACEF Nationwide Year-End Assessment for CY 2024, held in Baguio City from January 27-31, 2025. The assessment evaluated project accomplishments, addressed implementation challenges, and reviewed various components of the ACEF program, including credit support, research for development, and grant-in-aid for higher education.
The projects at USM that were monitored include:
- Upgrading of Crop Processing Center at USM (2019)
- Upgrading of Geographic Information Center at USM (2019)
- Upgrading of High-Value Crops Food Processing Laboratory at USM (2020)
- Upgrading of Tissue Culture Facility in USM (2020)
The primary objective of this activity was to ensure the operational status and sustainability of these projects. Stakeholders and project implementers provided updates on the progress and impact of these initiatives.
The USM and DA-RFO XII emphasized the importance of collaboration in ensuring that ACEF-funded projects continue contributing to regional agricultural competitiveness and development.
