Ismael John D. Cadi, 4th year BS Biology of the College of Arts and Sciences, USM, was named 2nd Best Research Presenter during the 2019 World Interdisciplinary Research Conference held on May 29-31, 2019 at the Avana Bangkok Hotel, Thailand.

The conference with the theme: “Reinventing Education and Research in the Era of 4th Industrial Revolution” was hosted by Lyceum of the Philippines University, Batangas City, Philippines in cooperation with DR International Training and Research, Thailand. It registered a total of 300 participants from different schools in Thailand, Japan, and Germany to name a few. 

Cadi’s research paper entitled “Occurrence of Endoparasite in Rohu carp (Labeo rohita) in Lake Buluan, Maguindanao, Philippines” won under Track 10: Natural and Physical Sciences category.  He was under the guidance of his advisers from the Biological Sciences, to wit: Prof. Elma G. Sepelagio, Ms. Cyrelle M. Besana, and Ms. Leanne Jay S. Manceras. The Biological Sciences Department of CAS, USM is a Center of Development by the Commission on Higher Education.
