The City Veterinarian of Kidapawan City, Dr. Eugene B. Gornez, visited SOXAARRDEC last March 12, 2026. The Consortium Director Dr. Julius Jerome G. Ele welcomed Dr. Gornez and his staff. Dr. Gornez discussed possible collaboration and partnership with the consortium. Dr. Ele expressed his support and optimism on the plans of Dr. Gornez and his office. Dr. Ele suggested that programs and projects for collaborative efforts must be aligned with the needs of the city and its livestock and poultry farmers and producers.

During the meeting, it was agreed that other government agencies, non-government organizations, private partners, and state universities and colleges are among the target co-sponsors and collaborators in the said endeavor.

The City Veterinarian cited possible activities such as seminars, trainings, technology transfer and innovation activities specifically on livestock and poultry. The City Veterinarian of Kidapawan targeted the second quarter of 2026 for the said upcoming activities. The consortium director and city veterinarian of Kidapawan plan to hold another meeting to finalize the specific programs and projects before the target month of the event.

Licensed Agriculturists – Ms. Dawn Vanessa Kaye Dayo- Meat Inspector II and Marc Joshua Padua- Administrative Aide I accompanied Dr. Gornez during the meeting.

The Livestock and Poultry sector is one of the priority commodities of SOXAARRDEC.
