The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) College of Engineering and Information Technology – Department of Computing and Library Information Science (CEIT-DCLIS) conducted a Library User Management Training at Carmen National High School – Senior High School (CNHS-SHS), on March 28, 2025.
The training was part of the CEIT extension project “Student Registration Management and Library Services for Carmen Senior High School: System Deployment and Resource Enhancement.” The CEIT Extension Coordinator, Prof. Jassen Fe C. Calaoagan, and CEIT Faculty member Prof. Ryan Z. Gonzaga, served as the training’s resource persons.
Prof. Calaoagan, the project leader and component 1 leader, led the training on cataloging and classification of textbooks and bookshelf labeling. She also introduced credible websites for the Department of Education (DepEd) Open Educational Resources (OERs).
Meanwhile, Prof. Gonzaga introduced a Quick Response (QR) code mobile application designed to monitor library and classroom attendance.
The training was attended by the CNHS-SHS library in-charge, strand heads, faculty members, and school administrators, equipping them with fundamental library management skills.
