October 29, 2022Dr. Krizler C. Tanalgo and Prof. John Aries G. Tabora are major contributors to the development of DarkCides 1.0 (https://darkcides.org/), which is the largest global collaborative database of bat caves and species. Their database contains information on cave-dwelling bats generated from more than 2000 cave sites in different countries. The database has been designed to be open-access and collaborative, so that bat researchers and conservationits can continue to add to the database and monitor information crucial for conservation and prioritization efforts.
More details on the DarkCides 1.0 database can be found in the article DarkCideS 1.0, a global database for bats in karsts and caves, published in Nature Scientific Data.
