October 20, 2021The unveiling ceremony for the USM-DOST PCAARRD Technology Center and DOST PCAARRD-USM ATBI was conducted on October 14, 2021 at the USM Agricultural Research and Development (USMARD) Center. The ceremony included messages from the Director of TTPD PCAARRD, Dr. Noel Catibog, the Executive Director of DOST PCAARD, Dr. Reynaldo V. Ebora, Hon. Congressman Jose “Ping-ping” I. Tejada, and the USM President, Dr. Francisco Gil N. Garcia.
The USM-DOST-PCAARRD Technology Center is dedicated for capacity-builiding in the conduct of R&D activities and generating significant and relevant outputs in support of the industry Strategic S&T Plan (ISP). The facility was completed on on September 13, 2019, and was made possible through financial assistance from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST)—Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD) under the NAARRDN Facilities Improvement/Upgrading Program.
The USM Technology Business Incubator (TBI) was developed to effectively support the use and commercialization of mature technologies in the agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources sector, and to establish and develop viable agribusinesses through technology incubation. Its establishment was made possible through the collective initiatives of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD) and University of Southern Mindanao.
