Makilala, Cotabato—The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) College of Business, Development, Economics, and Management (CBDEM) successfully conducted its third community outreach on April 4, 2025, at Kalinaw Casa Misericordia Foundation, Inc., Makilala, Cotabato, as part of its Tulong CBDEMians extension program.

The initiative was organized under CBDEM CONNECT (Community Outreach: Nurturing, Educating, Connecting Together), an initiative that focuses on providing support and assistance to vulnerable communities across the province.

Accompanied by LSG Adviser Prof. Metche Anne C. Logronio, CBDEM Extension Coordinator Prof. Analyn A. Gonzales, and faculty members from the accountancy department, the outreach was led by the CBDEM Local Student Government (LSG) and the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA), with participation from students across five departments of the college.

Volunteers donated canned goods, noodles, biscuits, medicines, and other basic commodities to the shelter, which houses nine elderly residents aged 61 to 84.

This activity was the third outreach conducted by CBDEM this year, following earlier events held in Makilala and M’lang on March 15 and 22, 2024.

This outreach reflects CBDEM’s commitment to community service, as students and faculty continue to extend comfort and care to vulnerable communities across the province.
