Dr. Anita C. Sornito, a faculty member from the College of Engineering and Information Technology at the University of Southern Mindanao, was honored with the Manuel T. Corpus Outstanding Accreditor Award by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP). The recognition was conferred during the 38th AACCUP National Conference and General Assembly 2025 on March 7, 2025, at Marikina Polytechnic College, Marikina City.
The award highlights Dr. Sornito’s expertise, integrity, and dedication to quality assurance in higher education through evaluation standards and professionalism in accreditation visits. AACCUP recognized her outstanding leadership, extensive accreditation experience, and collaborative efforts, which have significantly strengthened quality assurance frameworks in higher education institutions.
AACCUP officials, including Executive Director Dr. Milabel E. Ho and Board of Trustees President and Chairman Dr. Anthony M. Penaso, presented the award. Present also during the award is USM President Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel. This recognition underscores Dr. Sornito’s invaluable contributions to accreditation and quality assurance in Philippine higher education.
