Inception Meeting for 2025 RDE Projects Held
January 17, 2025With the goal to align with regulatory standards and instill best practices in food handling, hygiene, and sanitation, the University Quality Assurance Office (UQAO) in coordination with the Business Development Center (BDC) capacitated the food operators and handlers of USM Canteens on food safety and sanitation on January 17, 2025 at the College of Agriculture- AVR, USM, Kabacan, Cotabato.
The training focused on three different lectures to wit: Introduction to Food Safety and Personal Hygiene, Cleaning and Sanitizing Operations and Environment Sanitation, and Compliance with Food Safety Regulations.
Dr. Lawrence Anthony U. Dollente, the UQAO Director graced the activity. In his message, he emphasized that the training is to build a stronger partnership between the university and the food operators inside the campus.
“Partners niyo po kami… gusto ko pong magkaroon tayo ng magandang relasyon. Ang end goal natin doon: bigyan niyo kami ng magandang pagkain at serbisyo, bibigyan namin kayo ng magandang kita.” He explained.
Also, Dr. Urduja G. Nacar, the dean of the College of Human Ecology and Food Sciences (CHEFS), expressed her gratitude for the attendance and participation of the attendees.
Dr. Ivy Mar Cabornida, Norselyn Joy E. Lidasan, and Maribelle T. Piamonte were the Professional Food Technologists and CHEFS Faculty members who spearheaded the discussions.
