Themed “Bike and Run Through the Decades: Celebrating 70 Years of Legacy and Laughter,” the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) commemorated its 70th founding anniversary with a series of physical activities to wit: Fun Run, Biking, and Tree Growing on September 27, 2024, at USM, Kabacan, Cotabato.
USM President Dr. Francisco Gil N. Garcia, represented by Vice President for Academic Affairs Marcos F. Monderin, delivered an inspirational message. In his talk, he emphasized the event’s importance in celebrating USM’s rich legacy while promoting fitness and environmental responsibility.
Adding to the celebration, FAHalipay 2.0, a special tribute to the university’s faculty members, successfully continued. Sponsored by the USM Faculty Association, FAHalipay gave USM faculty members complimentary food and offered free pampering services such as manicure, pedicure, and massage.
Further, the USMASSAIYA Night, a socialization event organized by the USM Academic Support Staff Association, Inc. (USMASSAI), transpired on September 28, 2024. The USM non-teaching staff enjoyed an evening filled with entertainment and recognition of their invaluable contributions to the university.
