The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) held a benchmarking activity and campus tour at the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) on October 4, 2024 to gather insights on Agri-Tourism and institutional growth. Representatives from USeP’s Mabini, Obrero, and Tagum campuses aimed to learn from USM’s innovations in Agri-Tourism, research, and extension programs.

Dr. Debbie Marie B. Verzosa, USM’s Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension, briefed the USeP delegation, while Prof. Meldred Samblaceno, project leader of USM T.O.U.R.S. project shared the university’s Agri-Tourism accomplishments. The USeP team visited key facilities, including the Philippine Carabao Center, High-Value Crops and Food Processing Center, Science and Technology laboratories, and the Kundo E. Pahm Resource Learning Center.

The USeP delegation expressed gratitude to USM and emphasized the importance of benchmarking in enhancing university services. Lessons from USM are expected to shape USeP’s future initiatives across its campuses, furthering its commitment to collaboration, innovation, and education in the region.

Dr. Verzosa also noted the university’s ongoing efforts to fulfill the vision of the outgoing university president, with a special focus on Agri-Tourism and broader institutional growth.
