The University Health Services (UHS) of the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) conducted a bloodletting activity on September 28, 2024 as well as the operation sweet smile on September 26 to 30, 2024 at the USM Hospital, Kabacan, Cotabato.

Twenty-two (22) cleft lip and cleft palate patients who came from Parang, Maguindanao and nearby barangays in Kabacan benefited from the operation sweet smile while the Bleeding Team from Kidapawan City Blood Bank extracted seventy-seven 77 bags during the bloodletting activity. Successful donors in the bloodletting were given ferrous sulfate and Vitamin C. 

UHS collaborated with different offices and agencies to wit:  Advance Cranio Facial Project Philippines Inc. (ACPPI), Smile Train, Provincial Government of Cotabato, APO KASA, the 7th and 10th Field Artillery Battalions (FAB), 602nd Brigade,  USM Alumni Association (USMAA), University Student Government (USG), USM Faculty Association (USMFA), USM Academic Support Staff Association Inc. (USMASSAI), National Service Training Program (NSTP), Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC), and Civic Welfare and Training Service (CWTS).

UHS and its partner agencies usually conduct bloodletting and operation sweet smile activities to support community needs.
