USMAA Holds MIT-USM Alumni Homecoming

The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) gathered its retired professors and non-teaching personnel on September 30, 2024, at the Café Martina, USM, Kabacan, Cotabato.
Dr. Naomi G. Tangonan, a Professor Emeritus of USM, narrated her gratitude for the kind gesture of USM in gathering them, especially as the University celebrated its 70th Founding Anniversary
“We are very grateful as retirees to be part of this day…We are blessed that USM always considers us part of the USM family…Masaya kami na naging bahagi at hanggang bukas ay makikibahagi pa rin sa mga activities ng USM… As long as I have the strength and mental and psychological competence, I am always happy to serve the university because this is where I grew up personally and professionally.” She underscored.
Dr. Nicolas Turnos, the President of the USM Retirees Association, expressed his thanks to the administration for organizing the retirees of USM. During his talk, he encouraged other retirees to join the association. According to him, it is through the association that he gets updated on the events and programs of the university.
USM President Francisco Gil N. Garcia distributed the tokens to the forty-two (42) retirees who were around during the program. In his message, he recalled the contributions of the retirees to USM. He also provided updates on the future projects of USM.
The USM Retirees’ Day was organized to pay tribute to the huge contributions of the retirees to the university over the years especially in the celebration of its 70th Founding Anniversary.
