April 16, 2024On April 3, 2024, the University of Southern Mindanao’s (USM) Development Communication Interns organized a seminar-workshop titled “Creating and Delivering an Effective Presentation.” The activity, held at the USM Extension Services Office (ESO) training room, brought together students from various academic disciplines, including 3rd year AB Philosophy, 4th year BS Development Communication, 4th year BS Development Management, and 4th year Bachelor of Agricultural Technology.
The seminar-workshop aimed to equip participants with essential skills for crafting and delivering impactful presentations, with a particular focus on utilizing PowerPoint effectively. Led by a team of dedicated facilitators – Angelina Bisagar, Princes Mae Bornea, Reyhana Alon, and KC Jean Paligutan – the activity featured interactive discussions, hands-on exercises, and real-life examples to illustrate key concepts.
The day began with a pre-test to assess participants’ baseline knowledge, followed by engaging sessions on presentation design and delivery techniques. Attendees learned practical strategies for structuring their presentations, incorporating visual aids, and delivering their messages with confidence and clarity.
Throughout the seminar-workshop, the atmosphere was vibrant and lively, with participants expressing enthusiasm and eagerness to learn. The facilitators’ dynamic approach and interactive teaching style fostered active participation and facilitated meaningful discussions among attendees.
At the conclusion of the event, a post-test was conducted to measure participants’ learning outcomes and evaluate the effectiveness of the seminar-workshop. The positive response from attendees underscored the success of the event in enhancing participants’ presentation skills and providing them with valuable insights to excel in their academic and professional endeavors.
