March 15, 2024The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) conducted a terminal monitoring visit for the Discovery Applied Research and Extension Trans/inter-Disciplinary Opportunities (DARE TO) Project, call for proposals for 2025 funding, and inventory and turnover of the equipment utilized by the completed projects to the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) through the office of the Vice President of Research Development and Extension (VPRDE) on March 14, 2024, at USM Skyroom, USM, Kabacan, Cotabato.
Ophelle Dominique S. Balolong, the Project Technical Staff II of the Research Management Division, discussed the Grants-In-Aid (GIA) Program for Research and Extension, and Jamie Joyce C. Sese, the Project Technical Staff III, showcased the Institutional Development and Innovation Grants (IDIG). The presentations invited USM delegates to submit funding proposals. As one of the purposes of the visit, various presentations of the completed projects funded by CHED transpired.
During the courtesy call, Dr. Francisco Gil N. Garcia, the USM President, emphasized his appreciation for the turnover of the equipment as it will be an added asset to the University. He also addressed the benefit of mentoring, as some of the project leaders have already retired.
In her speech, Dr. Versoza encouraged the USM participants to submit proposals to sustain the University’s services to its community. “I would like to extend my gratitude to CHED not only for the funding but for the equipment that will be used by USM in the next few years.” She ended.
USM college research and extension coordinators, project leaders, members of the research committee, and full-time researchers attended the activity.
