March 7, 2024Dr. Ardniel A. Baladjay, the Dean of the USM-College of Agriculture, together with other Deans and Program Heads of the Bachelor Science in Agriculture (BSA) program of other institutions in the country, attended the 1st Philippine Agriculture Education Leadership (PAEL) Summit on March 5, 2024, at SEARCA Auditorium.
Sponsored by the College of Agriculture and Food Science (CAFS) of the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) and the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA), the meeting served around 111 State Universities and Colleges (SUCs).
Guided by its theme: “Empowering Agri-Education: Bridging the Gap between Tradition and Technology”, the summit aims to assist the SUCs in creating a collaborative platform for sharing ideas, discussing challenges, and formulating strategies to elevate agriculture education in the Philippines to ensure that it remains at the forefront of global advancements.
Meanwhile, the summit featured keynote addresses, panel and round-table discussions, and networking opportunities. The summit participants engaged with leading experts exchanged ideas, and contributed to the ongoing dialogue on enhancing agriculture education in the Philippines.
Moreover, as an output of the one-day summit, the development of the Agriculture Education Roadmap also transpired. Dr. Baladjay served as moderator during the group discussion under the Crop Protection group.
