A total of 19 students, together with their coaches and advisers from different units at the University of Southern Mindanao (USM), showcased their innovations and were awarded in four categories during the Agri-Aqua Food Product and Technology Innovation Fiesta 2024 on September 25, 2024, at the USM Commercial Building, Kabacan, Cotabato.

Their innovations were evaluated by a panel of esteemed judges, namely: Mr. Chester Ian S. Pineda, Master Teacher I at Libertad National High School/Manager of CSP Smart Rabbitry; Ms. Catherine D. Ajero, MBA, DTI Junior Business Counselor at Negosyo Center Kabacan; Dr. Rande B. Dechavez, Professor IV/Director, Agri-Aqua Technology Center/Project Leader, SKSU-ATBI IPTBM; and Mr. Ommal H. Abdulkadil, Chief Science Research Specialist, PhilRice-Midasayap/Technology Transfer Cluster Coordinator, SOXAARRDEC.

This fiesta spearheaded by Dr. Julius Jerome G. Ele, Director of the SOCCSKSARGEN Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development Consortium (SOXAARRDEC) was conducted in collaboration with S&T-based, Innovative, Knowledge-driven, Leading Agri-Aqua Businesses (SIKLAB), DOST-PCAARRD, USM ATBI, and the USMart Technology Business Incubator (TBI) as part of the RDE Tech Forum in celebration of USM’s 70th Foundation Anniversary.
