usm thumnailThe Department of Agriculture - Bureau of Agricultural Research (DA-BAR) approved and funded two current research projects at USMARC, namely: “Effects of Pests, Diseases, Biocontrol, and Weather on the Phytochemical Production of Coffee and Cacao in Mindanao” and “Nutritional Analysis of Indigenous Vegetables and Wild Edible Fungi as Affected by the Occurrence of Pests, Diseases, and Weather Factors” with a total allocated budget of P10.67M for two years. Half of this budget was already released to USM as initial funds for the first year of implementation of both projects.

The said researches were prepared and submitted by Dr. Naomi G. Tangonan, retired University Professor/Scientist I assisted by Ms. Maria Irinea S. Candolita, Instructor I.

Other faculty-researchers involved in the project are: Drs. Rommel G. Tangonan, Conrado C. Evangelista, Ms. Jigzcel Divine F. Basoy, together with Research Assistants Elaine Genevive B. Parcon and Melesa M. Prado; and Laboratory/Field Technicians, Keith Bryan V. Marcelino and Remelyn Bello; and Laboratory Aide  Khizzle S. Anos.
