The College of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Southern Mindanao held its 1st Grand Alumni Homecoming on February 15-16, 2016 at USM-CVM.
Since the College started in 1981 up to the present, CVM has produced a total of 34 batches of graduates.
During the homecoming, a total of 60 alumni from different batches attended the program.
The homecoming’s highlights included: the conduct of the Lechon Parade where a total of 10 roasted pigs were dressed up by the college students and were paraded around the university. The CVM Alumni Association also conducted a Seminar on Swine Raising for the farmers served by the College in its extension activities in Kabacan.
During the program, the alumni were very impressed by the improvements they saw in their Alma Mater. The officers for the Alumni Association were also elected that day with Dr. Harold B. Eslabon as the president for 2016-2018.
The association also donated cash gift to the college for additional improvement of the facilities in the unit and also pledges in kind which the College needed. It is their way of showing their appreciation to everything the College had given them. CVM faculty, staff and students were indeed thankful to everyone who made the activity a success. A repeat of this event would be done every two years based on the business meeting conducted by the Alumni Association.
